Users, Comments, Google Video

TV Links DB just unrolled some new features to its site.

Anyone can now register as a user, and comments on TV Shows, Movies or Music Videos. To go along with that, you can also now submit links to any of the shows already in the TV Links database. This will hopefully start a large community for TV Links DB and bring fresher more relevant tv links to everyone. We are looking for active members to start inserting new links, all you need to do is be a registered user!

We also added an additional google video for each page in the TV Links database, these videos usually feature movie trailers, or short clips of a tv show. These are delivered using the Google Ajax search API, so you are getting video's directly from the Google Video database.

There might be bugs, so if you run into any problems, please use the contact form, and thanks for tuning in.

Alluc, The King of Online Videos?

Right now it seems as if Alluc is the king of online video links. With an alexa ranking of 1,110, meaning that it is the 1,110 most visited site on the web, not an easy feat, and a massive user base uploading and rating tv links constantly, it has the largest video database, and the largest user community of any video link website on the web.

Alluc is rolling out new features to it's website about every other week, with latest additions including
Alluc, which has only been around for a little over half a year, and originated to create a database of family guy videos, has grown at an exponential rate as internet users search for links to pirated content that can not be found on youtube.

Legal action has been brought to Alluc, but since it does not host any content on it's site, and only gives links to content, it is not liable for any illegal content.

TV Links DB is happy for alluc's success, and hopes that it sticks around for a while, even though they are the competition, sites like this only help the internet succeed and to give the message to content providers that sites like alluc and tv links db will be around for a while, so they should start coming up with better solutions to deliver their content to users that want to access it!

TV Links w/ Snap Shots

TV Links DB is proud to offer it's visitors a sneak preview of the links you will be visiting. We have enabled Snap Shots, a cool way to preview the page you are about to visit. If the link is pointing to YouTube, Google Video, Metacafe, Revver, Photobucket, Xanga, Veoh, MySpace, you will be able to get the video directly on our site. Or if the link points to a different site, then you can get a preview of that page to see if the video still exists. Also if when viewing wikipedia descriptions, you can get a preview of the wikipedia description. Pretty neat eh? Let us know what you think, and you can easily disable Snap Shots if you do not like it.

TV Links DB says "Hello World"

A big thank you to everyone visiting this site, and "Hello World". There has been alot going on lately around the TV Links DB website. We have recently been featured in Ajaxian, a blog about ajax. From the comments, it seemed as though visitors were not very happy with the look and feel of the website, so I decided to make a few upgrades and adjustments and have released them as TV Links DB Release 1.2 with updates that include the following:

- - Search By Feature - -
You can now search by All, TV shows, Movies, Music Videos, and even things you have recently viewed to help speed up your search time.

- - Minimizing Feature - -
You can now easily toggle things on or off with the plus and minus buttons. When clicked they will show the hidden data so you can easily see the information you want to, and disregard the rest.

- - Video Link Ratings - -
Videos can now be rated on a scale from 1-5 and you can easily rate video links just by click on the star rating system, which was integrated with the help of Komodo Media Star Rating System
Don't worry, when you rate a video, it records your submission through ajax so you never have to leave the page to rate it.

- - Report Broken Links - -
TV links are always changing and we are always getting new ones, so it is incredibly hard to go through and manually check each link, so we are asking for your help, if you find a link to a video that has been taken down, help us out and click the report broken link button right next to the video title. This will save us a bunch of time and also let you get to your videos quicker.

- - IE Corner Fix - -
I am using Nifty Corners to help the boxes on TV Links DB look more web 2.0 and there was a slight bug when viewed with Internet explorer, but I have solved that to now make the site look sleek and sharp.

We still know there are bugs, and if you find any, please let us know, thanks for tuning in.
